seep: book one of post human classics

In Seep, it’s the year 2045. Alien life-forms have come to Earth in the form of a viscous substance which enables empathic and psychic bonds between all things. People engage in what’s called “seeping” as a religious experience, to make art and products, as a party drug, or to pour their consciousness into another vessel when their body dies. These alien life-forms have completely changed society’s relationship to death, sexuality, economy, and isolation. The future is pagan, punk, queer, and in constant flux. But in the Compound, human separatists live cut off from this evolving society, keeping their offspring sealed inside by falsely reporting a devastating environmental disaster.
